Abstract: The paper explores the possibility of automatically assessment of activity of students in e-courses conducted in an e-learning system in order to assess the quality of learning. It outlines ways of tracking student activity using Moodle, one of the most popular elearning systems. The paper also presents an experiment with an additional module that can generate a report containing calculations of the time students spent in a given e-course.
