Abstract: Today the training of healthcare professionals is a serious challenge. The training of nurses and midwives must combine traditional skills with the achievements of modern nursing and obstetric science. On the other hand, today`s students are "digital natives" for whom the world of World Wide Web is a virtual environment in which they feel at home. This puts traditional teaching in front of serious challenges and the need for didactic and technological change. Medical University of Varna applies modern simulated training, virtual electronic platform Blackboard, scientific videos, digitization of scientific and educational resources. This puts new challenges for the academic community.
