Abstract:
In the history of Czech, the glass material is centuries of uninterrupted traditions. In the second half of the twentieth century, today's Czech Republic undergoes thru many political, territorial and cultural reforms – the Second World War, the Communist takeover of Czechoslovakia in 1948, the Soviet invasion of Prague in 1968 and the Revolution of 1989. Glass production in post-war decades undergoes both reconstruction and evolutionary processes. However, between 1950 and 1980, there are also positive emotions in the form of international participations and awards, imposing a new modern aesthetic and artistic identity of the glass material. The moments described in the report, in summary, speak of a period of artistic development under intense pressure and constraint. In spite of all political tensions, the glass art in Czechoslovakia moves in a positive direction and opens a new page in the world of art.

В историята на стъклото в Чехия, материалът носи векове от непрекъснати традиции. През втората половина на ХХ век днешната Чешка република преминава през много политически, териториални и културни реформи – Втората световна война, комунистическото поглъщане на Чехословакия през 1948 г., съветската инвазия в Прага през 1968 г. и Нежната революция от 1989 г. Производството на стъкло в следвоенните десетилетия претърпява както възстановителни така и еволюционни процеси. В периода между 1950 г. и 1980 г. има и положителни събития под формата на международни участия и награди, налагане на нова съвременна естетична и художествена идентичност на материала стъкло. Моментите засегнати в доклада, обобщено представят период на художествено развитие под силен политически натиск и ограничение. Въпреки всички обществени напрежения, изкуството от стъкло в Чехословакия се движи в положителна насока и отваря нова страница в световния свят на изкуството.
