Abstract:
The purpose of the scientific exposition is to trace the development of the landscape genre in the painting – its formation, differentiation and significance during the 16th – 19th centuries. For a more detailed study of the role of landscape works in modern painting, it is necessary to review the historical aspects of the genre's evolution. Historically, the landscape of painting originates as a stage setting of action. It is where the action takes place, and it is inevitably important, as the environment that determines the mood in the picture, complementing the common purpose. The moment in which the landscape is shaped, as an independent scene playing a major role in the picture surface, is also the stage in which one begins to look more closely into the surrounding world.

Целта на научното изложение е да се проследи развитието на пейзажният жанр в кавалетната живопис – неговото формиране, обособяване и значение през периода XVI – XIX век. За едно по-обстойно изследване на ролята на ландшафтните произведения в съвременната живопис е необходимо да се направи преглед на историческите аспекти в развитието на жанра. Погледнато в исторически план пейзажът в картината се заражда, като мизансцен на дадено действие. Той е мястото, където се случва действието и неминуемо е важен, като среда определяща настроението в картината, допълвайки общият и замисъл. Моментът в който пейзажът се заформя, като самостоятелна сцена, играеща основна роля в картинната повърхност е и етап, в който човек започва да гледа по-обстойно на заобикалящия го свят.
