Abstract: In a period IX-X century the ceramics in a metropolis beyond the bounds of craft production and becomes a creative peak of the material old-Bulgarian culture. Untrasient character and high artistic value characterize this art. The production is organized and carried out only by the monks within the boundaries of the urban and extra-urban monastery ensembles. The processes of development in the country's politics and economy have led to the prosperity of Preslav in a period IX - X century, but the Preslav ceramics as a characteristic mark of Old Bulgarian culture remains unknown to the modern Bulgarian.
